On July 17, 2022, Professor Emeritus Dr. Kasem Wattanachai, a Privy Councilor and Chairman of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother, inaugurated the 157th Royal Prosthetic Leg Mobile Unit project at IRPC Sport Complex, Muang District, Rayong. The event, held from July 17-22, 2022, was also attended by Dr. Sathit Pitutecha, Deputy Minister of Public Health, Rattapon Unakanporn, Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Management, Logistics and Excellence Operations of IRPC Public Co., Ltd. or IRPC.
Additionally, Pralong Damrongthai, advisor to the Sustainable Resource Management Foundation (3R), former Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, Campaign and Public Relations, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, participated in the opening ceremony and filmed promotional content for the project.
TBC supported the event by providing 8,000 cans of water and another 2,000 cans of beverages, and also set up collection bins for used aluminium cans to be recycled as part of the “Recycle for Life” project, to support the ongoing work of the Prostheses Foundation. Representatives from TBC, including Kittiya Saentaweesuk, Head of Sustainability, Waleethip Prommobol, Sustainability Project Leader, and Sirada Sirijindaphan, Head of Communication, joined the event.
The “Prosthetic Leg Mobile Unit ” event aims to help disabled individuals of all races and religions return to their normal lives by providing and repairing prosthetic limbs free of charge, improving their quality of life and enabling them to work.
