TBC holds the 4th Can to Can Journey event

TBC organized the 4th Can to Can Journey, tracing the path of aluminium cans after consumption, on July 21-22, 2022. Partnering with Thai Beverage Recycling Co., Ltd. (TBR), Anglo Asia Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd., along with the Sustainable Resource Management Foundation (3R), Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE), and Thai Beverage Industry Association (TBA).

The Can to Can Journey project is designed to align with the strategy for integrated economic development under the concept of Bio Economy, Circular Economy, and Green Economy (BCG Model), aiming for sustainable development. It emphasizes the circular economic development of aluminium can packaging, which can be completely recycled within Thailand, following the Circular Economy concept.

Participants will learn about Thailand’s comprehensive aluminium can recycling system, a model for turning recyclable waste back into new aluminium drink cans. The process covers aluminium can production, collection, and sorting post-consumption, to the recycling process, creating a closed loop entirely within Thailand.

This year’s Can to Can Journey was attended by government officials, executives from Thai and Vietnamese private companies, representatives from environmental organizations, and research and educational institutions. The event was honored by Mr. Atthapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, who opened the event and spoke on “Policy and Legal Directions on Waste and Packaging Management.”
