TBC participated in the press conference for the charity walk-run mini-marathon,
“We Can Run: Fund For Legs” Year 2.
 
On 18 December 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), through the Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with partner networks, held a press conference inviting runners and interested individuals to participate in the charity walk-run mini-marathon Recycle for Life “We Can Run: Fund for Legs” Year 2. The event aims to support the production of prosthetic legs, enhancing the quality of life for underprivileged individuals with disabilities, while fostering an environmentally friendly society.
 
 
The press conference was officiated by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, alongside Clinical Professor Dr. Niwes Nantachit, Secretary-General of the Prostheses Foundation of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother, and Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, Treasurer of the Resources Management for Sustainability (3R) Foundation. And leaders from private-sector partners also attended. Additionally, the event featured motivational speeches from Bebe Thanchanok Ritnaka, influencer and actress, Louis Hesse, actor from Channel 7HD’s “Save World Save life” project, prosthesis recipient from the Prostheses Foundation, and inspiring runner, all of whom shared their perspectives at ThaiBev Quarter.
 
 
The event is designed as a Carbon Neutral Event, highlighting the combined efforts of partner organizations, including the Prostheses Foundation, the Resources Management for Sustainability (3R) Foundation, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, TCP Group, ThaiNamthip Corporation, Haad Thip Public Company Limited, Thai Beverage Can Limited, Thai Beverage Recycle Company Limited, and Channel 7HD’s “Save World Save life” initiative. The activity is scheduled for 30 March 2025, at the main grounds of Sanam Luang, offering two distances: a Mini Marathon (10 km) and a Micro Marathon (5 km).
 
 
This year, the project aims to support the production of 100 prosthetic legs, valued at over 2,500,000 Baht, by recycling 4,800,000 used aluminium cans. Participants are required to bring five cleaned used aluminium cans to exchange for a shirt and bib, contributing to a reduction of 570 tons of CO equivalent greenhouse gas emissions through recycling compared to mining new materials. This initiative not only benefits society but also fosters an environmentally friendly community through the principles of the Circular Economy.

TBC Business Partner Award 2024

TBC hosted its inaugural “Business Partner Award 2024” to honor and recognize its business partners for their outstanding performance across various categories.

On 13 December 2024, Thai Beverage Can Ltd. organized the Business Partner Award ceremony to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of TBC’s business partners. The event showcased the collaboration between the company and our partners that has led to mutual success. It also served as a platform to communicate future directions and shared goals for sustainable growth, emphasizing the vision of building a robust network under the theme “Strengthening a Sustainable Value Chain.” The event was held in Meeting Room 208, 2nd Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
 
 

This year’s TBC Business Partner Awards were presented in several categories: Bronze Awards: 9 recipients, Silver Awards: 10 recipients, Gold Awards: 5 recipients, Special Awards: 2 recipients, including the Collaborative Innovation Award and the Collaborative Sustainability Award. The awards were assessed based on 5 criteria: Quality, Delivery, Commercial, Collaboration Project, and Sustainability.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Ms. Kanchana Jhonraleechanchai, TBC Senior Vice President of Commercial & Supply Chain Management, who emphasized the importance of fostering long-term relationships between TBC and our partners.

 
The event also featured a keynote address from the public sector, delivered by Mr. Pavich Kesavawong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, on the topic “Action Green Transition.” A special panel discussion was held with Mr. Sivach Keawcharoen, Director of Director of Climate Change Mitigation Division, and Ms. Rachada Wanichakorn, Director of Tax Planning Bureau, on the theme “Thailand’s Pathway to Carbon Reduction.” This provided valuable insights for businesses to understand government support and align their operations towards sustainable development more effectively.
 
 
TBC executives, led by Mr. Pavin Chayavivatkul, TBC Vice President of Corporate Strategy, outlined TBC’s vision to become a global leader in the aluminium packaging industry and achieve excellence in ESG, creating positive impacts for the planet and communities. Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, TBC Head of Sustainability, delivered a presentation on TBC’s sustainability strategy and the collaborative efforts required from partners to achieve the company’s Decarbonization Pathway goals under the theme “A Collaborative Journey Toward Sustainability.” Additionally, Ms. Pojanee Sukasem, TBC Supply Chain Manager, provided a summary of past collaborations with partners and explained the evaluation criteria for the TBC Business Partner Awards for the coming year.

TBC Supports ‘SPOTLIGHT DAY 2024: Sustainability Disruption – Adapting Business Before Being Disrupted’

On 27 November 2024, SPOTLIGHT, an online platform focusing on economy, business, and sustainability under Amarin Television Co., Ltd., hosted its annual seminar, SPOTLIGHT DAY 2024, under the theme “SUSTAINABILITY DISRUPTION: Adapting Business Before Being Disrupted” at the C asean Auditorium, 3rd Floor, ThaiBev Quarter Building.

The event featured speakers from various sectors sharing insights and practical approaches to raising awareness among businesses and the public about transitioning towards sustainability. It also included discussions led by the Ministry of Industry on reforming Thai industries to thrive in a volatile global environment while aligning with the country’s sustainability goals. These goals aim to reduce Thailand’s greenhouse gas emissions by 30–40% by 2030, achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.

At the event, TBC supported the initiative by providing canned drinking water, a sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging option. Additionally, TBC educated attendees on aluminium can recycling through the Closed Loop Recycling process, which allows cans to be recycled endlessly into new cans. This process reduces landfill waste, minimizes energy use in production, and lowers carbon emissions, making it the most efficient recycling method in Thailand.

The TBC Sustainability Goals 2030 (#TBCSG2030) serve as the framework and long-term objectives for managing the organization’s sustainability initiatives, aiming to meet the needs of all stakeholders by 2030. The strategy is divided into two key focus areas: Product Stewardship and Social Impact.

The activities featured influential environmental advocates, including Wan Chai – Akira Wongsaeng from the YouTube channel “Asa Pa Pai Long”, Top – Pipat Apiraktanakorn from Ecolife, and Kong – Chanat Wutwikaikan from KongGreenGreen. They delivered talks on sustainability in everyday life, highlighting how individuals can incorporate sustainable practices into their daily routines.

On 4 October 2024, the Thailand Supply Chain Network (TSCN) hosted the SX Partnerships for the Goals: TSCN Business Partner Conference 2024 at the SX Grand Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The event featured CEO panels discussing topics such as “Sustainable Hospitality and Mobility” and “Vision 2030: The Power of Collaboration Toward a Sustainable Future.” It also included a declaration of commitment to the TSCN Business Partner Code of Conduct, which provides ethical, sustainable, and inclusive guidelines for TSCN business partners. This code aligns with ESG principles, emphasizing Environment, Social, and Governance considerations to ensure sustainable and ethical business practices that respect all stakeholders. Representing Thai Beverage Can Ltd., Mr. Pavin Chayavivatkul, TBC Vice President of Corporate Strategy, participated in this commitment declaration.

Additionally, the TSCN Sustainability Award 2024 was presented for the first time to recognize outstanding sustainability projects by business partners of TSCN Co-Founders. TBC nominated UACJ (Thailand) Company Limited for the award for their collaboration on the “Transparency of Aluminium Can Closed-Loop Recycling” initiative, which gave rise to the Aluminium Loop project. This project promotes a comprehensive recycling system for used aluminium cans in Thailand, enabling them to be recycled into new aluminium beverage cans repeatedly (Can-to-Can). It also aims to improve the efficiency of collection and sorting processes to enhance the quality of used aluminium cans, increasing the Recycling Rate and the Recycled Content ratio in aluminium can production. The initiative aligns with TBC Sustainability Goals 2030, particularly in the area of Product Stewardship, which focuses on real circularity. TBC collaborates with partners in the aluminium industry to develop an efficient Closed-Loop Recycling system in Thailand, contributing to the organization’s long-term sustainability strategy.

TBC Delivers a Can Crusher for Use at Bon Marché Market Park

On 13 September 2024, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with Bon Marché Market Park and Channel 7HD’s “7 Colors of Love for the World” project, organized the “Creative Art for World Ozone Day” campaign. The event aimed to promote the reduction of single-use plastics within Bon Marché Market Park. The activity was presided over by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, along with Mr. Pavich Kesavawong, Deputy Director-General, and market executives. The event, held at Bon Marché Market Park in Chatuchak District, Bangkok, strengthened private sector cooperation to expand efforts to reduce, abstain from, and eliminate single-use plastics in fresh markets, advancing toward the Net Zero goal.

Thai Beverage Can Ltd. joined the Department of Climate Change and Environment in donating a can crusher for use in the market. The machine will collect used aluminium cans from the public, which will be sold for recycling. Proceeds from the recycling will be donated to support the operations of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother.

TBC Delivers a Can Crusher for Use at The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan

On 4 September 2024, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with The Mall Group Co., Ltd., launched a campaign to promote the reduction of single-use plastics in shopping malls and department stores. The initiative aims to drive progress toward Thailand’s Net Zero 2065 goal, as part of the first roadshow event. The event, chaired by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, took place at The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi Province, fostering collaboration among private sector networks to accelerate efforts toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

“To achieve Thailand’s designated goals, collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and citizens—known as the 4P partnership (Public-Private-People Partnership)—is essential for addressing environmental issues. Today marks a significant milestone for us to collectively raise awareness about plastic waste. I encourage everyone to reduce, abstain from, and eliminate the use of single-use plastics and to adopt environmentally friendly alternatives. Let us also ensure that 100% of plastic waste is reused or recycled and incorporate environmentally conscious habits into our daily lives to minimize activities that generate greenhouse gas emissions. By doing this, we can contribute to protecting and preserving the environment for ourselves and future generations,” said Dr. Phirun.

In support of this initiative, Thai Beverage Can Ltd. collaborated with the Department of Climate Change and Environment to deliver a can crusher to The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan. On 28 August 2024, the management team of Thai Beverage Can Ltd., led by Mr. Saroj Chayavivatkul, President, Ms. Pornthip Avagulpanith, Chief Financial Officer, and Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, Head of Sustainability, participated in the BJC Big C Group’s sustainability event, advancing policies to drive the organization towards the Net Zero goal.

The event brought together executives from all business units to showcase their visions at BJC Big C Sustainability Day 2024: ‘Highway to Net Zero,’ reinforcing the organization’s commitment as a leading corporation in Thailand dedicated to combating global warming and promoting truly sustainable business practices.
