TBC Supports ‘We Can Run: Fund for Legs’ Mini Marathon – Year 2

On 29-30 March 2025, Thai Beverage Can Limited. (TBC) participated as an exhibitor in the Year 2 “We Can Run: Fund for Legs” charity mini marathon, under the Recycle for Life initiative, in support of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother. The event was held at the central square of Sanam Luang, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. The campaign aims to support the production of 100 prosthetic legs, valued at over 2,500,000 THB, for underprivileged individuals with disabilities.

TBC received a certificate of recognition as an official supporter of the event, which was presented by Mr. Pavich Kesavawong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment. Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, TBC’s Head of Sustainability, accepted the certificate on behalf of the company on Expo Day, 29 March 2025.

On Race Day, 30 March 2025, the event was officially opened by Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, alongside Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, ministry executives, and partner organizations. TBC was represented by Mr. Pavin Chayavivatkul, Vice President Corporate Strategy, and Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, Head of Sustainability, along with proud TBC staff who actively participated in the socially impactful initiative.

The event also set an ambitious goal of collecting 4.8 million used aluminium cans for recycling, contributing to an endless cycle of aluminium reuse and generating proceeds for the Prostheses Foundation. TBC continues to expand its aluminium can collection network through 192 Big C branches nationwide, under the “Recycle for Life” campaign. This effort is projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 570 tons of CO equivalent, compared to manufacturing cans from new raw materials, significantly promoting a more environmentally friendly society.

The event was certified as a Carbon Neutral Event, with 87.6 tons of CO equivalent emissions offset through Thailand’s Voluntary Emission Reduction Program, resulting in net-zero greenhouse gas emissions—truly making it a meaningful activity that unites public support for both social good and environmental sustainability.
