TBC has signed an MOU for the “Business Sector Promotion Project to Reduce GHGs Emission” and has been selected as one of the 7 pilot organizations for the “Science Based Target (SBT) for Fiscal Year 2022” initiative. Ms. Kittiya Saentaweesuk, New Ventures Head of Sustainability at Thai Beverage Can Ltd., represented the company.
On February 22, 2022, the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, led by Mr. Kiatchai Maitriwong, the Director of TGO, along with the Excellence Center of Eco-Energy (ECEE), Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, and the 7 participating organizations, held the MOU signing event for the “Science-Based Target (SBT) for Fiscal Year 2022” at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.
This collaboration aims to set science-based targets for reducing greenhouse gases from the business sector, and plan operations in line with the global goal of not exceeding a 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius increase.
TGO and ECEE will offer technical support, consultancy on setting science-based targets, operational guidance, and technology adoption to align with these goals.
This event is part of the TBC SG 2030 plan, aimed at sustainability based on social, economic, and environmental responsibilities, catering to the needs of all stakeholders, and promoting the country’s development strategy towards a sustainable economy, the BCG Model, an economic model for Thailand’s sustainable development. The strategy for Product Stewardship: Climate Leader focuses on leading climate change initiatives, with long-term goals for sustainable organizational management. It aims to elevate business practices towards “sustainable development” grounded in responsibility towards society, economy, and environment, to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
