Thai Beverage Can Ltd. (TBC), a leading manufacturer of aluminium beverage packaging in Thailand and Southeast Asia, continues its commitment to sustainability by promoting the recycling of used aluminium beverage cans through the “Recycle for Life” project. Launched in 2022, the initiative supports the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. the Princess Mother by encouraging the collection and recycling of used aluminium cans. The collected cans are sold and recycled into new can, contributing to a circular economy while generating funds to support the Foundation’s operations.
TBC collaborates with a wide range of partners from the public sector, private companies, and non-profit organizations, including the Prostheses Foundation, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the 3R Foundation (Resources Management for Sustainability Foundation), the Thai Beverage Industry Association (TBA), Thai Beverage Recycle Co., Ltd., Thai Beverage Public Co., Ltd., TCP Group, ThaiNamthip Corporation Public Co., Ltd., Haad Thip Public Co., Ltd., and Channel 7HD. Together, we aim to collect 4.8 million used aluminium cans by the end of this year, with the goal of donating 100 prosthetic legs to underprivileged individuals with disabilities. The collected cans will be recycled in a closed-loop system known as the Aluminium Loop, allowing them to be transformed into new cans continuously.
A key highlight of the Recycle for Life project is the collaborative charity event “We Can Run: Fund for Legs,” a walk-run mini-marathon, held this year for the second time at Sanam Luang, Bangkok. With over 5,000 participants, the event collected more than 116,000 cans—equivalent to over 1,700 kilograms—donated by the public and participating organizations. This outcome reflects strong public awareness and collective effort in recognizing the value of aluminium cans, recycling, and supporting people with disabilities.
