TBC Joins Tree-Planting Event on National Tree Day 2022

TBC took part in a forest planting activity on National Tree Day 2022, engaging in a volunteer project aimed at conserving, restoring headwater forests, mangroves, and preventing forest fires. They also distributed aluminium canned drinking water to participants on May 17, 2022, at Wat Khao Noi Hin Kong, Huai Khamin sub-district, Nong Khae district, Saraburi province.

The event saw participation from various organizations including Hin Kong Sub-district Municipality, Siam Cement (Kaeng Khoi) Co., Ltd., CP-Meiji Co., Ltd., Thai Beverage Can Ltd., Panjawattana Plastic Public Co., Ltd., and Wat Khao Noi Hin Kong.

Deputy Governor of Saraburi, Somphop Smitasiri, presided over the ceremony where participants planted 600 trees over approximately 5 Rai around Wat Khao Noi.

Additionally, the event featured green environmental management exhibitions for sustainability in line with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) model, organized by various agencies such as:

 

  • The Saraburi Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment: Promoting the sustainability of natural resources and the environment.
  • The Saraburi Land Development Station: Supporting tree planting fertilizers and co-hosting the exhibition.
  • The Saraburi Volunteer Network for the Protection of Natural Resources and Environment and the Node flagship management network: Showcasing efficient community waste management model projects.
  • Thai Beverage Can Ltd.: Showcasing the Aluminium Loop eco-friendly packaging initiative.

This event is part of the TBC SG 2030 plan, aimed at sustainability based on social, economic, and environmental responsibilities, catering to the needs of all stakeholders, and promoting the country’s development strategy towards a sustainable economy, the BCG Model, an economic model for Thailand’s sustainable development. The strategy for Product Stewardship: Climate Leader focuses on leading climate change initiatives, with long-term goals for sustainable organizational management. It aims to elevate business practices towards “sustainable development” grounded in responsibility towards society, economy, and environment, to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
