The press conference was officiated by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director-General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment, alongside Clinical Professor Dr. Niwes Nantachit, Secretary-General of the Prostheses Foundation of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother, and Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, Treasurer of the Resources Management for Sustainability (3R) Foundation. And leaders from private-sector partners also attended. Additionally, the event featured motivational speeches from Bebe Thanchanok Ritnaka, influencer and actress, Louis Hesse, actor from Channel 7HD’s “Save World Save life” project, prosthesis recipient from the Prostheses Foundation, and inspiring runner, all of whom shared their perspectives at ThaiBev Quarter.
The event is designed as a Carbon Neutral Event, highlighting the combined efforts of partner organizations, including the Prostheses Foundation, the Resources Management for Sustainability (3R) Foundation, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, TCP Group, ThaiNamthip Corporation, Haad Thip Public Company Limited, Thai Beverage Can Limited, Thai Beverage Recycle Company Limited, and Channel 7HD’s “Save World Save life” initiative. The activity is scheduled for 30 March 2025, at the main grounds of Sanam Luang, offering two distances: a Mini Marathon (10 km) and a Micro Marathon (5 km).
This year, the project aims to support the production of 100 prosthetic legs, valued at over 2,500,000 Baht, by recycling 4,800,000 used aluminium cans. Participants are required to bring five cleaned used aluminium cans to exchange for a shirt and bib, contributing to a reduction of 570 tons of CO₂ equivalent greenhouse gas emissions through recycling compared to mining new materials. This initiative not only benefits society but also fosters an environmentally friendly community through the principles of the Circular Economy.
