TBC Joins BJC Big C’s Aluminium Can Donation Project to Support the Prostheses Foundation

On 28 August 2024, Ms. Thapanee Techajareonvikul, Senior Executive Vice President of BJC Big C Group, together with Thai Beverage Can Ltd. (TBC), represented by Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, TBC Head of Sustainability, and Ms. Waleethip Prommobol, Sustainability Project Lead, handed over more than 120 kilograms of used aluminium cans to support the operations of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother. This initiative aims to provide prosthetic limbs for people with disabilities, restore what they are missing, and honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 6th cycle birthday anniversary on 28 July 2024. The donation was received by Mr. Kraidej Takerngkiat, Deputy Secretary-General for Finance and Accounting of the Prostheses Foundation, at the foundation’s office in the Srijulsup Building, Rong Muang, Pathumwan.

This project is one of 72 community development and collaboration initiatives by the BJC Big C Group. Its goal is to support the production of prosthetic limbs for underprivileged people with disabilities, enabling them to achieve equality in society. Additionally, it has positive environmental impacts by recycling used aluminium cans into new ones. Proceeds from the sale of recycled cans are donated to the foundation. This approach reduces the use of new raw materials, promotes the reuse of materials, and helps lower greenhouse gas emissions from raw material extraction and production processes. It aligns with Thailand’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
