On May 6, 2022, the Specialized Center for Environmentally Friendly Business Strategies, Faculty of Environment, Kasetsart University (VGREEN, KU), in collaboration with the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), the Ministry of Industry, and the Federation of Thai Industries, made history for Thailand by developing the world’s first circular product label, “CIRCULAR MARK”, supported by the main research fund from PMU-C and partly by the PPP Plastic group.
During the press conference, 30 pioneering companies and 376 products were certified with the CIRCULAR MARK, becoming Thailand’s leading circular companies. These companies span 5 target industries: agro and food, construction materials, plastics, packaging, and fashion lifestyle, with TBC being a trailblazer in the packaging industry to receive the Circular Mark certification.
Products with the CIRCULAR MARK label are recognized for:
- Being circular products.
- Designed with material circulation in mind.
- Produced through environmentally friendly processes.
- Managed within a circular economy system.
- Accompanied by appropriate product usage instructions to extend their lifespan.
- Including guidelines for waste segregation and collection for recycling.
