TBC Joins Tree-Planting Event on National Tree Day 2022

TBC took part in a forest planting activity on National Tree Day 2022, engaging in a volunteer project aimed at conserving, restoring headwater forests, mangroves, and preventing forest fires. They also distributed aluminium canned drinking water to participants on May 17, 2022, at Wat Khao Noi Hin Kong, Huai Khamin sub-district, Nong Khae district, Saraburi province.

The event saw participation from various organizations including Hin Kong Sub-district Municipality, Siam Cement (Kaeng Khoi) Co., Ltd., CP-Meiji Co., Ltd., Thai Beverage Can Ltd., Panjawattana Plastic Public Co., Ltd., and Wat Khao Noi Hin Kong.

Deputy Governor of Saraburi, Somphop Smitasiri, presided over the ceremony where participants planted 600 trees over approximately 5 Rai around Wat Khao Noi.

Additionally, the event featured green environmental management exhibitions for sustainability in line with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) model, organized by various agencies such as:

 

  • The Saraburi Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment: Promoting the sustainability of natural resources and the environment.
  • The Saraburi Land Development Station: Supporting tree planting fertilizers and co-hosting the exhibition.
  • The Saraburi Volunteer Network for the Protection of Natural Resources and Environment and the Node flagship management network: Showcasing efficient community waste management model projects.
  • Thai Beverage Can Ltd.: Showcasing the Aluminium Loop eco-friendly packaging initiative.

This event is part of the TBC SG 2030 plan, aimed at sustainability based on social, economic, and environmental responsibilities, catering to the needs of all stakeholders, and promoting the country’s development strategy towards a sustainable economy, the BCG Model, an economic model for Thailand’s sustainable development. The strategy for Product Stewardship: Climate Leader focuses on leading climate change initiatives, with long-term goals for sustainable organizational management. It aims to elevate business practices towards “sustainable development” grounded in responsibility towards society, economy, and environment, to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

TBC Joins in Sharing Knowledge “Wihan Daeng Sub-district Project: Unites to Reduce Waste, Reduce Disease, for a Clean and Safe Environment”

On May 9, 2022, the Wihan Daeng sub-district in Saraburi Province launched the “ Wihan Daeng Sub-district Project: Unites to Reduce Waste, Reduce Disease, for a Clean and Safe Environment” initiative, with Thai Beverage Can Ltd. sharing knowledge on waste segregation and utilization, as well as applying the 3R principles (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle). The event aimed at community leaders, health volunteers, and the general public, with 75 participants attending.

This event is part of the TBC SG 2030 plan, aimed at sustainability based on social, economic, and environmental responsibilities, catering to the needs of all stakeholders, and promoting the country’s development strategy towards a sustainable economy, the BCG Model, an economic model for Thailand’s sustainable development. TBC Certified By “Circular Mark,” the World’s First Circular Product Label

On May 6, 2022, the Specialized Center for Environmentally Friendly Business Strategies, Faculty of Environment, Kasetsart University (VGREEN, KU), in collaboration with the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), the Ministry of Industry, and the Federation of Thai Industries, made history for Thailand by developing the world’s first circular product label, “CIRCULAR MARK”, supported by the main research fund from PMU-C and partly by the PPP Plastic group.

During the press conference, 30 pioneering companies and 376 products were certified with the CIRCULAR MARK, becoming Thailand’s leading circular companies. These companies span 5 target industries: agro and food, construction materials, plastics, packaging, and fashion lifestyle, with TBC being a trailblazer in the packaging industry to receive the Circular Mark certification.

Products with the CIRCULAR MARK label are recognized for:

  • Being circular products.
  • Designed with material circulation in mind.
  • Produced through environmentally friendly processes.
  • Managed within a circular economy system.
  • Accompanied by appropriate product usage instructions to extend their lifespan.
  • Including guidelines for waste segregation and collection for recycling.

TBC Sponsored Drinking Water for Future of Food @Thaifex Asia 2022

TBC sponsored canned drinking water for the Thailand’s Future Food Pavilion at THAIFEX ANUGA ASIA 2022 in Muang Thong Thani, from April 24-28, 2022.

 

The event featured over 60 food future talks, along with booths from more than 50 pioneering brands offering food made from intriguing ingredients. Additionally, there were workshops on creating new dishes and over 15 future food tastings.

TBC, Under the Aluminium Loop Project, Participates in the Green Coffee Shop Event

TBC, under the Aluminium Loop project, participated in the Green Coffee Shop event at the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion on April 22, 2022.

The event featured booths from environmentally friendly coffee shops, producers, and packaging suppliers like Inthanin, Café Doitung, Jungle Café, Coffee Today, S&P, Café Amazon, KOI Thé, and Gracz eco-friendly packaging, Fest safe and eco-friendly food packaging, and Makro’s Earth-friendly initiatives, among others. The event also included the announcement of the “Green Coffee Shop” initiative in celebration of Earth Day 2022, by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with coffee shop partners nationwide.

Additionally, over 30 agencies and coffee shops declared their commitment to foster collaboration among business operators, producers, and coffee shop services to promote environmentally friendly production, service, and consumption within coffee shops.

This initiative is part of the “Invest In Our Planet: Act for the world today, a better future is ours.” concept, aiming to reduce the use of plastic packaging or single-use containers and switch to eco-friendly alternatives to minimize waste from the source and maximize the return of resources into the recycling process.

TBC, through the Aluminium Loop project, showcased its commitment by educating attendees on the endless recyclability of 100% of aluminium cans. Demonstrating that besides regular beverages, aluminium cans can also package coffee shop drinks like coffee, milk tea, and fresh brews. Once consumed, these cans can continually be recycled.

TBC Signs MOU for “Business Sector Promotion Project to Reduce GHGs Emission”

TBC has signed an MOU for the “Business Sector Promotion Project to Reduce GHGs Emission” and has been selected as one of the 7 pilot organizations for the “Science Based Target (SBT) for Fiscal Year 2022” initiative. Ms. Kittiya Saentaweesuk, New Ventures Head of Sustainability at Thai Beverage Can Ltd., represented the company.

On February 22, 2022, the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, led by Mr. Kiatchai Maitriwong, the Director of TGO, along with the Excellence Center of Eco-Energy (ECEE), Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, and the 7 participating organizations, held the MOU signing event for the “Science-Based Target (SBT) for Fiscal Year 2022” at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.

This collaboration aims to set science-based targets for reducing greenhouse gases from the business sector, and plan operations in line with the global goal of not exceeding a 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius increase.

TGO and ECEE will offer technical support, consultancy on setting science-based targets, operational guidance, and technology adoption to align with these goals.

TBC Joins in Sharing Knowledge for “Turn Trash Into Cash for Community Welfare” Event in Nong Nak Sub-district.

TBC participated in the “Turn Trash into Cash for Community Welfare” event in Nong Nak sub-district on February 11, 2022. Led by Dr. Wisut Sukrin, head of Saraburi province unit of Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), and Ms. Somkid Maliwan from the mentoring team, TBC’s HR head, Mr. Chukiat Nipatthanon, shared insights on community waste management and the application of the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to utilize resources efficiently and reduce waste.

TBC Joins in Sharing Knowledge for “Nong Rong Unites for Development and Reducing Household Waste” Project.

On January 21, 2022, the Nong Rong sub-district in Saraburi Province held an event titled “Nong Rong Unites to Develop and Reduce Household Waste” with Mr. Thinnakorn Boonsan, the Chief Executive of Nong Rong Sub-district Administrative Organization, inaugurating the event. The event saw participation from over 100 households.
TBC representatives shared their knowledge and presented successful community waste management examples from the Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE).

This activity is part of TBC’s SG 2030 plan aimed at sustainability based on social, economic, and environmental responsibilities to meet stakeholders’ needs. It promotes the BCG Model strategy for driving Thailand’s sustainable economic development through social impact: community engagement to develop a sustainable society.
