CSR activity “Sharing Happiness… For the Kids”: Painting and Line Marking at Ban Mai Thung Din Khor School

On September 12th, 65 TBC employees participated in a volunteer activity aimed at community and social development towards sustainability at Ban Mai Thung Din Khor School. In this activity, employees helped improve the school’s environment by repairing the damaged entrance pathway, laying walkways between buildings, painting the school fence and various curbs, and marking lines on 4 fields including football, volleyball, chairball, and basketball courts. They also replaced and repaired electrical outlets to ensure they were functional.

Additionally, they provided lunch and ice cream for the students and gave care packages to the less fortunate in the nearby community.

TBC holds the 4th Can to Can Journey event

TBC organized the 4th Can to Can Journey, tracing the path of aluminium cans after consumption, on July 21-22, 2022. Partnering with Thai Beverage Recycling Co., Ltd. (TBR), Anglo Asia Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd., along with the Sustainable Resource Management Foundation (3R), Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE), and Thai Beverage Industry Association (TBA).

The Can to Can Journey project is designed to align with the strategy for integrated economic development under the concept of Bio Economy, Circular Economy, and Green Economy (BCG Model), aiming for sustainable development. It emphasizes the circular economic development of aluminium can packaging, which can be completely recycled within Thailand, following the Circular Economy concept.

Participants will learn about Thailand’s comprehensive aluminium can recycling system, a model for turning recyclable waste back into new aluminium drink cans. The process covers aluminium can production, collection, and sorting post-consumption, to the recycling process, creating a closed loop entirely within Thailand.

This year’s Can to Can Journey was attended by government officials, executives from Thai and Vietnamese private companies, representatives from environmental organizations, and research and educational institutions. The event was honored by Mr. Atthapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, who opened the event and spoke on “Policy and Legal Directions on Waste and Packaging Management.”

TBC Supports the Royal Prosthetic Leg Mobile Unit Project in Rayong

On July 17, 2022, Professor Emeritus Dr. Kasem Wattanachai, a Privy Councilor and Chairman of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother, inaugurated the 157th Royal Prosthetic Leg Mobile Unit project at IRPC Sport Complex, Muang District, Rayong. The event, held from July 17-22, 2022, was also attended by Dr. Sathit Pitutecha, Deputy Minister of Public Health, Rattapon Unakanporn, Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Management, Logistics and Excellence Operations of IRPC Public Co., Ltd. or IRPC.

Additionally, Pralong Damrongthai, advisor to the Sustainable Resource Management Foundation (3R), former Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, Campaign and Public Relations, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, participated in the opening ceremony and filmed promotional content for the project.

TBC supported the event by providing 8,000 cans of water and another 2,000 cans of beverages, and also set up collection bins for used aluminium cans to be recycled as part of the “Recycle for Life” project, to support the ongoing work of the Prostheses Foundation. Representatives from TBC, including Kittiya Saentaweesuk, Head of Sustainability, Waleethip Prommobol, Sustainability Project Leader, and Sirada Sirijindaphan, Head of Communication, joined the event.

The “Prosthetic Leg Mobile Unit ” event aims to help disabled individuals of all races and religions return to their normal lives by providing and repairing prosthetic limbs free of charge, improving their quality of life and enabling them to work.

IRPC, a fully integrated petrochemical company, has been collaborating with the Prostheses Foundation to research and develop materials for prostheses and prosthetic devices to produce high-quality, durable, and lightweight prostheses and devices, facilitating easier movement for disabled individuals and allowing them to lead everyday lives like others.

TBC Signs MOU to Become a Member of “Seedling Without Bin” Network

On June 22, 2022, a TBC representative signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to become a member of the “Seedling Without Bin” network, aiming to become the strongest waste management coalition in Thailand. This initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive waste management ecosystem from upstream to downstream, involving every related group from educators, waste sorters, material handlers, recyclers, collectors, product owners, to packaging producers to jointly solve waste issues. It also plans to develop a Green Learning Network, intending to extend the network to 5,567 CONNEXT ED schools nationwide to sustainably reduce waste from the source.

This network is led by Mr. Prasith Chakarttham, Assistant Vice President of Social Affairs and Environment at CP ALL Plc., executives from 7-Eleven and 7 Delivery, and 10 other organizations including SCG Chemicals Co., Ltd. or SCGC, SCG Packaging Public Co., Ltd. or SCGP, Unilever Thai Trading Limited (Unilever), SIG Combibloc Ltd., Thai Beverage Can Ltd., Tetra Pak (Thailand) Ltd., AMPOLFOOD Group, Wongpanit Suvarnabhumi Recycle Station Co., Ltd., Eco Friendly Thai Co., Ltd., and Wat Chak Daeng.

The “Seedling Without Bin” network was inspired by the success of the Seedling Without Bin project at Thap Sakae pre-elementary school in Prachuap Khiri Khan, under the CONNEXT ED project managed by CP ALL. This initiative encourages schools to reduce, avoid, and eliminate potential waste, promote waste segregation at the source, and reuse and recycle, turning what is considered waste into organic materials and generating income for schools. This effort has dramatically reduced waste from 15 tons per month to just 2 kilograms.

Under the Can Café project, TBC supported with a can sealer and black Stubby 250 ml Can Café cans with lids for serving Welcome Drinks at the Propak Bar booth at Bitec Bangna, from June 15-18, 2022. There were also promotional banners for Can Café and Aluminium Loop for those interested in learning more project details.

TBC Supports Drinking Water at Propak Asia 2022

TBC supported drinking water at ProPak Asia 2022, held under the theme “Sustainability in Processing and Packaging for our Better World.” The event showcased innovations, technologies, and solutions in production, processing, and modern packaging covering a wide range of industries from around the world in one place. It featured exhibitions, demonstrations, conferences, and seminars by world-renowned experts, as well as business and investment negotiations with global entrepreneurs. The event took place from June 15-18, 2022, at BITEC Bangna, with over 1,000 leading companies from around the world participating.

This year, the food industry stood out at the event with displays of technology and innovation from industrial product manufacturers, along with various stage activities discussing diverse aspects of food production, spurred by the global food crisis. This has opened opportunities for business and investment development and production, such as the Future of Food Journey and Future Food Ideation & Tasting activities, which serve as platforms for collaboration, supporting and promoting the production of future sustainable foods.

TBC Shares Knowledge on Waste Segregation and Provides Drinking Water in the “Khotchasit Unites Effort, Unites Heart for Household Waste Management Towards a Waste-Free Community ” Project.

On May 30, 2022, Thai Beverage Can Ltd. provided insights on waste segregation and supported drinking water and prizes for participants in the MOU signing event for the “Khotchasit Unites Effort, Unites Heart for Household Waste Management Towards a Waste-Free Community” project.

The administrative team of Kotchasit sub-district, led by Mr. Paithoon Kuptaphansonti, assigned Mr. Yuttana Sukulchat, Mr. Somsak Khongsomnuan, Deputy Mayors, and Mr. Nathee Sukulchat, Advisor to the Mayor, to sign the MOU with the abbot of Wat Khon Cha-Ngok, local school directors, and community chairpersons to cooperatively manage community waste. Moreover, participants were also given organic waste bins and recycling mesh bags, supported by a team of mentors including Mr. Prapon Paotong, Mr. Tawat Buasuwan, Ms. Somkid Maliwan, and Ms. Vilawan Trakulkiat.

TBC Supports and Shares Knowledge on Waste Management in Ban Lam and Nong Suang Communities.

On May 27, 2022, Mr. Santat Rundawe, the District Chief of Wihan Daeng, presided over the opening ceremony and awarded households that excel in waste segregation at the source in Ban Lam and Nong Suang sub-districts. This was part of the “Ban Lam United for Source Waste Management for a Strong Community” and “Enhancing Community Participation in Waste Management” projects held at Wat Ban Lam, Nong Suang sub-district, Wihan Daeng district.

The event saw 260 participants from local communities, public health officials of Wihan Daeng district, and students from Wat Sahakon Rangsan School, Wat Nong Suang (Phira Uthit) School, Wat Ban Lam School, and the Department of Non-Formal Education Center of Wihan Daeng. Thai Beverage Can Co., Ltd. supported the event by providing knowledge on waste management in communities.

TBC Shares Knowledge in Waste Elimination Project in Nong Moo Sub-district

On May 24, 2022, the waste elimination committee of Nong Moo sub-district, Saraburi, organized a waste management learning session with public and private sector networks, led by Araya Chisangvon, Mayor of Nong Moo Sub-district Municipality; Ruam Manonom, Head of Public Health of Wihan Daeng District; Thawal Pokprakhon, Principal of Wat Sang Boon School; Onrada Thamtheing, Principal of Wat Khlong Mai School; Itthipol Kuladee, Deputy Municipal Clerk of Nong Moo Sub-district; Mr. Jongrak Amin, Director of Nong Moo Sub-district Hospital; the teaching staff of Department of Non-Formal Education of Wihan Daeng District; and the volunteers from the ThaiHealth, along with Waleethip Prommobol, Sustainability Manager of Thai Beverage Can Co., Ltd., Mr. Chukiat Nipatthanon, Deputy Human Resources Manager of Thai Beverage Can Co., Ltd., and the team provided knowledge on waste management and distributed compost bins for household organic waste to the community members of the municipal and sub-district administrative organization areas in Nong Moo, with a total of 150 participants in the activity.
