Aluminium Loop, under Thai Beverage Can Limited (TBC), has been honored with the “Distinguished Environmental Protection” commemorative plaque and a Certificate of Recognition for Contributions to Environmental Protection and Preservation for 2025, presented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand.

The award was received by Ms. Kitiya Santaveesuk, TBC Associate Vice President, Sustainability, Branding & Communication, and Corporate Affairs, on behalf of the company, from Dr. Chayanan Pakdeejit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, who presided over the 2025 honorary award ceremony.
The recognition stems from the collaboration on “Promoting the Production of Recyclable Beverage Packaging in Thailand,” which began in 2020, with the Aluminium Loop Model serving as one of the key initiatives to develop a closed-loop recycling system for aluminium beverage cans in Thailand. Since the launch of the project, more than 1.5 billion used aluminium cans, or over 22,000 tons, from participating brands have been collected and returned to the closed-loop recycling system, achieving a 100% recycling rate, supported by a transparent and traceable verification system.
In addition, the initiative has generated significant positive environmental impacts, reducing energy consumption in the production process by up to 95% through the use of recycled aluminium compared with primary aluminium ore. It also creates social value through community-focused initiatives, such as the “Recycle for Life” project, which supports the Prostheses Foundation, while driving the packaging manufacturing industry toward sustainable transformation from its inception to the present.

This collaboration and its tangible outcomes clearly demonstrate that Thailand can elevate sustainable packaging management in practice, both at the policy and implementation levels. The efforts contribute to waste reduction, carbon reduction, and the development of a practical circular economy system, while supporting the country’s overall sustainable development.
On this occasion, TBC was recognized and honored for the dedication and commitment of individuals who have devoted themselves to promoting and preserving environmental quality, as well as those who have made meaningful contributions to the nation’s environmental management. The recognition serves as one of the mechanisms to inspire “environmental role models” and to set a strong example for society through selfless and impactful environmental stewardship.
